What it pays

$16 an hour + $0.25 per kilometre. One free meal a day.

That is the whole formula, and it is the same for every driver. In Saskatoon it starts at $16.00 an hour, above the provincial minimum, and it can only go up. It is not an estimate, not “up to”, and not dependent on tips. Every run has at least one hour's pay guaranteed, and you see that figure in the app before you accept it. Kilometres are counted on the delivery run, from pickup to drop-off.

On any day you drive, one meal up to $15 from a kitchen you collect from is on SwiftCater. Driver pay is built into the customer's order at checkout. It is never taken out of the restaurant's share and never out of a tip.

How it is different from app delivery

Scheduled, not summoned Catering is ordered days in advance. You see your runs ahead of time instead of waiting on a ping at 11:40pm.
Fewer, bigger runs One office lunch for forty people, not fifteen single burritos. Fewer stops, less dead time between them.
Daytime work Most catering lands between 10am and 2pm, with some evening events. Not a late-night job.

What you need

To apply

A valid Saskatchewan driver's licence, held for at least two years
A reliable vehicle with room for trays and hot boxes — a hatchback, wagon, SUV or van, kept clean
Vehicle insurance that covers business use (we can tell you what to ask your insurer)
A smartphone for order details and directions
Comfortable carrying trays into offices and setting them down where the customer asks

A food handling certificate is a plus and we will tell you how to get one; it is not required to start.

The duty of care

Complaints about the food go to the restaurant that made it, never to you. In return, every SwiftCater driver signs up to five things: be at the kitchen by the pick-up time on every run you accept; keep food sealed, upright and at temperature, never opened; deliver to the person and place on the run and be courteous at the door; report anything wrong in the app the moment it happens; and drive legally and safely in a vehicle fit for carrying food. You accept it once, in your profile, and it is on record.
